        How to get to KertemindeUpdated

        By plane

You can fly to Copenhagen or to Billund

If you arrive in Copenhagen, the fastest connection to Kerteminde by public transport (2:21 hours) is the ICL (Inter City Lyn) train to ODENSE, followed by bus 152, 151, 920 or 885 to Kerteminde. These trains depart approx. every hour from the airport between early morning until 20:30. When arriving in Odense, take the escalator, turn right when reaching the top of the escalator follow the stream of people, take the escalator downward and then turn left. Busses to Kerteminde normally leave from point "D". All ICL trains, regardless of final destination, stop in Odense.

Alternatively you can take the IC (Inter City) train to NYBORG, followed by bus 920, 151 or 885 to Kerteminde. This takes 2:47 hours. Trains depart hourly until late night. When arriving in Nyborg, you will see the buses when leaving the hall. A taxi from Nyborg to Kerteminde costs approx. 350 DKK. All IC trains, regardless of final destination stop in Nyborg. Some IC connections require you to take the "Øresundstog" to Copenhagen main station and to board the IC train there. Be sure not to enter the Øresund train to Sweden. Normally , trains to Copenhagen leave from track 2, and trains for Sweden leave on track 1, but exceptions occur.

If you let us know your expected arrival time, we can pick you up at NYBORG train station. If you do not see someone with a REM8 sign, wait in the hall or call. We do not pick up from Odense station.

It is about 100 m walk from the bus terminal in Kerteminde to Tornøes Hotel. If you stay at the Youth Hostel, stop at the hotel, from where we can guide you over.

For precise departure times, seat reservation and purchasing tickets see here. Sunday evening is main travelling time, so it is recommended to make a seat reservation. Since the ticket office and ticket machines in the airport may be rather busy, it is recommended to buy your tickets over the internet. If your plane is late, the ticket remains valid for the entire day, although the seat reservation (30 DKK) does not. Bus tickets are sold by the driver. You need Danish currency for this. Seat reservation for buses cannot be done but should not be necessary.

If you are lost, call (+45) 2176 2933 or (+45) 2480 3106 (these are private numbers which will be open on 20 September but are normally not accessible).

If you arrive in Billund, you may prefer to rent a car. Alternatively, take the bus to VEJLE (lines 43 or 166) which leaves approx. every hour. From Vejle take the IC train to NYBORG and proceed as above.

NOTE1: Most ICL (InterCity Lyn) trains do not stop in Nyborg.
NOTE2: If you are 65 years of age or more,, regardless of nationality, you are entitled to travel at half price on the train. Ask for a 65 ticket.
NOTE3: Bagage delivery may be slow in Copenhagen airport.

        By car

Dependent on whether you come on E20 from East or West, take exit 46 or 48. If you come from East, be aware that the bridge over the Great Belt is a toll bridge (currently 223 DKK). You can pay by credit card.

If you come on E45 from the south and prefer a scenic route, turn eastward to highway 8 north of the boarder, take the ferry from Fynshav to Bøjden (reservation recommended at http://www.faergen.com/book-ticket.aspx) and pass through beautiful Funen.
